How & Why I Joined Neal's Yard Remedies
Back in April I took little maldod along to the Cheltenham Maman Pop Up event over in lovely Cheltenham, Sam's old Uni town and a place I hold dear. It was a week long shopping event which went really well for my shop but, unbeknown to me, was also somewhere that would open the door to a brand new business venture.
You see, my table just so happened to be right next to the most deliciously scented Neal's Yard Remedies Organic stand. I knew of Neal's Yard but, at the time, knew nothing about NYRO Consultants, so didn't realise that the stand was actually run by a group of self employed women who were working as Independent Consultants for Neal's Yard.
On one of the days that I spent there I got chatting to a few of the ladies, who were all also Mums, passionate about this lovely brand and making work work for them. I got to try out some products, ordered a few gifts for friends expecting babies and treated myself to a hand cream (can never not add in a little extra for me!) On the same day I joined in on the Cheltenham Maman 'Mum Boss' lunch and got chatting to the NYRO Group Leader, Katie, who was there with her gorgeous newborn daughter Nina. Katie explained a bit more about the business - that it was flexible, with absolutely no pressure or sales targets and that some people even just join to enjoy the consultant discount for themselves.
It's funny how sometimes it just takes a chance conversation to open the door to a new opportunity. Days later, when I was driving back to Cardiff with my little maldod goods all packed up in the back of the car, I started daydreaming about how joining NYRO could work for me. I knew it'd be lovely to offer my little maldod customers a little something extra with award winning, organic skin care products but also, there was no pressure so I could do as much or as little as I wanted.
I registered as a consultant a few days later and within a week my starter kit arrived, it was like Christmas in May! Since then I've loved using the products and sharing them with friends over a few girly evenings.
I thought I'd share my top 3 favourite products with you, which all happen to be brilliant for the Summer.
- Wild Rose Beauty Balm. This pot of loveliness smells absolutely incredible and is an award winner (with a Best Beauty award from Stylist in 2016 to name just one). It can be used as a cleanser, exfoliator, mask or balm too so a great all rounder!
- Goodnight Pillow Mist. The best pillow spray I've used, it is SO relaxing and I've even got Sam hooked on it as part of his bedtime routine (he'll love me for sharing that!)
- The entire Bee Lovely range. I tried this at the Pop Up and was instantly hooked. I love a good citrus scent and this range has that with nourishing honey thrown in for good measure. The fact that it's family friendly (from age 3 up) and that Neal's Yard donate towards bee friendly charities each year means it's an absolute winner for me! The range has just been redesigned and sees the introduction of a Bee Lovely Balm (a bit like the Wild Rose) which is brilliant too.
These are all available to buy through my Neal's Yard Remedies site here, (I've linked them all above for you) or you can drop me a line if you'd like to order anything.
Whilst this new venture is still a great addition to little maldod, I'm enjoying seeing how creative I can be with it. I've got an open house coming up this weekend where I'm looking forward to sharing these products with friends over tea and cake and raising some money for Breast Cancer Care. I've also got a few summer evenings booked with friends where pampering and Pimms will be on the cards!
Having had a launch evening and chatted to friends since joining, a few have also joined up as Independent Consultants too, so it'll be fun sharing this new adventure with people I know. If you think this might be something you'd be interested in too, then there's a brilliant offer at the moment to register for just £50 (usually £95) which gives you a huge starter kit with everything you need to get going.
You can find out more here but you feel free to drop me a line too.
I'd love to know if you use Neal's Yard and, if so, what your favourite products are. Do leave a comment below and share the blue bottle love!
